Bangsar
BANGSAR ENERGY
Bounded by KL ’s skyscrapers and its main train station and forming part of the rich western suburbs, Bangsar is one of the city’s most sophisticated and appealing districts.
Bangsar exudes a wholesome atmosphere comprised of bars and multi-cuisine restaurants, colorful boutiques and a sprightly mix of well-heeled locals and expatriate families craving for banana leaf rice or organic soy latte.
Bangsar is KL’s first suburb originally chosen for its proximity to the city to house the staff and families of companies arriving to set up offices and factories in newly independent Malaya in the 1950s and 1960s.
A former middle working class district, Bangsar is now mostly gentrified though still retaining pockets of radical energy and youthful restlessness.
Incredibly self-contained, the heart of the city in a neighborhood all “just down the road”
